So I have been working on
potty training Macie every since she turned two. I have had little luck with the whole process until now. The past couple of weeks Macie has been very good about going "
tee-tee" in the potty, but she told me that she's too scared to "
poo-poo". Well, I broke down and got a big plastic see through box with "
poo-poo prizes" (thanks to my friend Cassie's parents' idea) and set it right beside the potty. Now, every time she goes "
tee-tee" she gets to long for one of the "
poo-poo prizes". Yesterday, she finally did it! She was so excited too. She kept screaming, "
I DID IT, MOMMY, I DID IT!!!" So stinkin' funny. She got her cheap Dollar Tree prize and was super duper happy (sadly it broke 5 min. later, of course).
Well, today she left the room for a while then all of the sudden she runs into the living room screaming, "
I DID IT, MOMMY, I DID IT!!!" I walked back into my bedroom bathroom and she sure did "do
IT"...in her little potty and took it upon herself to take on the clean up responsibility as well. GROSS! "
IT" was everywhere...all over the little potty, HER HANDS, the big toilet. She was so proud of herself, so I couldn't be mad. I started the bath water, put her in there, and started to clean "
IT" up. Again, she got her "
poo-poo prize".
I'm so glad that my 2 1/2 year old is finally potty training, but I hope this little adventure never repeats itself. I didn't take pictures of "
IT"--too nasty--but I did take some pictures of the "
poo-poo prize" box and then Macie wanted to model for me:
