Macie Got 3 Goldfish!

This past weekend, Macie got to stay Friday AND Saturday at her Lolli and Pop Pop's house while Chris and I got a weekend to ourselves. She had a great time...she got to meet Santa Friday night and Saturday her Aunt Ashley brought 3 goldfish home for Miss Macie. I'm so glad she had a great time and here are a few pictures from her fun weekend:
(Sorry, cell phone pictures)
She was at the front of the group.

She got some princess lipgloss from Santa!

She wasn't crying...her Aunt Ashley said she was thinking about what she wants for Christmas.

Still with Santa!

She loves the lipgloss...she's playing with it here!!!

She likes to stare...really close!!!

Attitude, if I've ever seen one!

Just hanging out with her fish while watching her shows.

Testing My New Camera

I finally have a chance to sit and write a new entry! I'm almost through with this semester, YAY!!! This week I bought a new SLR camera and have had a chance to take a few pictures of my little cutie. I, by no means, am a pro and I'm not sure I ever will be but with this camera it sure makes me feel like I'm pretty close! I should have bought one before Macie was born, but these bad boys take a lot of funds to pay for. I know it will definitely be one of the best investments of my life and I can't wait to snap all of our memories through the years. Anyway, I've only had the camera two days but here are a few pictures I have had a chance to take:

"Hello, where are you?"

I love this one!

Little Miss Priss...she was having a great time posing for me!

Hey Mom!

She loved playing in this little play house at the park.

Our Halloween '09

Last year for Halloween (Macie's first), we didn't go trick-or-treating. Instead we went to Macie's Uncle Nick's football game and on the way, Chris hit a deer in my Tahoe. So, this time of year rolled around and all I could think of was that happening again! Well, I'm glad the night turned out a lot better this go-around. Macie had an absolute blast for her official "first Halloween"! Trick-or-treating just came natural for my little stinker. She looked adorable as a little kitty. We went to Meridian to meet my mom then headed to Clifton to meet my sister and her kiddos. From there we went downtown for a bit then headed back to Meridian for a stroll down Main and Bosque. The very last house we went to was Cole and Sonja Word's and they had a great little haunted house set up that Macie was pretty crazy about. Her fascination was mainly with a spider that dropped from the ceiling. What is pretty creepy is that I found a black widow in my car two days later...ick!!! Her new saying is, "PIDERS UCK!!" (Spiders yuck!) She's so funny. Anyway, here are some pictures from our Halloween adventure...
Macie with her Nana.
With favorite cousin, Hannah.
Dino-Noah. He'll be running around with the other kiddos next year!
The two again.
Mommy and Miss Mace.
This was the haunted house. Piders...UCK!!!
The end of the night. She was not ready to go home!

Taking Things To New Heights!

My little monkey likes to try out different sitting positions in her little princess chair and today she took it to new heights. I've come to the conclusion that I cannot take my eyes off of her because every single time I do, she ends up in a position like this:

Yes, she does have that stinkin' chair on top of the ottoman. It was up there only long enough for me to snap this picture with my phone.

I love watching my baby girl hit milestones, but these kind are going to give me a heart attack. She's such a daredevil and that last thing I want it a big ol' bump on that pretty little head of hers.

Cutting this one short. The "DAREDEVIL" keeps removing my hands from the keyboard!

We're Still Here!!!

Well, life has been busy. I realize I haven't posted in a few months, so I'm going to update. I started the Fall semester in August, so I'm over in Stephenville on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. In the Spring, Macie stayed at a daycare here in Granbury but this semester I decided to find a place closer to me just in case something happens. Boy, did I luck out finding a babysitter. I had a class with another mommy over the summer and she referred me to Macie's new babysitter, Ms. Amy. It's such a relief having her closer to me. I feel like I don't miss out on as much now. Also, it's a lot more personal having her stay at someone's home. We just LOVE Ms. Amy and are glad we found her.

So, Miss Priss Macie talks up a storm now. She will be 2 in 3 short months and I can hardly believe time has passed so quickly! She's a stubborn little thing, but I can't help but laugh at her and her stubborn-ness (probably not even a word, oh well). She says many many words and is talking in a few sentences now. Here are a couple of sentences she says:

Der it ees! (There it is.)
Wur are eww? (Where are you?)
I get it.
(Maybe a little gross) Poo Poo/Tee Tee in the paee (potty).
I uv eww. (I love you.)
Eww uck! (Eww Yuck!)
Burr towd! (Burr cold!)

I also love that she has manners. She's really demanding when she wants something, but once she gets it she will say thank you, or tak eww. She will say please (peas) too most of the time.

Over the weekend, we went to Meridian to celebrate mine and Chris' 25th Birthdays and my Momma's 52nd! I always love getting to see my wonderful family and, of course, eating great food. My sweet Daddy cooked some meat on his smoker and the rest of the family brought the sides. Anyway, it rained that day and luckily I had Macie's raincoat and rain boots that my aunt bought for her in the car. So, my Aunt Sharon got Macie all decked out and took her walking around to splash in all of the mud puddles. Boy, did she have a blast! Here are a few pictures from that:

These are from yesterday, my Momma's actual birthday. We went into Meridian, again, to eat out with the family. Macie and I got there a little early so we went riding around on the golf cart to pass some time.

Long Lost Friends

Last Friday Macie and I had the pleasure of sharing lunch with my friend Cassie and her two kids, Ayden and Alyssa, and Cassie's sister Tressie and her brand new baby girl, Morgan.  It was definitely a very busy lunch, but a lot of fun and I'm so glad we got to see them!  I don't get to see Cassie very often anymore because she now lives in California.  Luckily she was passing through Texas on her way back to California (and her mom lives in Stephenville).  We had lunch at La Fiesta in Stephenville and just got to catch up.  After lunch we went over to her mom's house and hung out for a while, so Macie got a chance to play with Ayden and Alyssa.  They played very well, much to my surprise.  I have a bossy, very possessive daughter and I know it so I make sure to warn people before she plays with their kids.  Here are a few pictures from their play date!

Ayden was being so sweet to Macie.

Two sleepy girls!

Trying to get as close to the TV as they could!

Playing together!!

Last night, we went out to eat with the Jared and Mandy Stone and their two little ones, Brooks and Paxton.  Macie just loves Brooks.  Every single time we say his name, she gets really excited and runs around saying BEEEE (that's what she calls him).  After we finished our meal, Jared and Chris took Macie and Brooks out to play on the "rides".  Macie just had a great time!  I didn't get to get a picture of Paxton because she's still at the lounging in the carseat phase of babyhood, but I'm sure as soon as she becomes mobil she will be chasing around these other two crazy kids!  Here are some pictures from the night.

She's so happy playing with Brooks.

Riding on Bob the Builder's dozer.

Horsey ride again.

Hump Day...

Well, it's Wednesday.  Today, Macie and I are going to Stephenville to pick up a kitten for my mom.  It's a pretty cute tiny tabby cat and I'm not sure if it is male or female yet.  The people I am getting it from say they think it's female, but we'll see.  It doesn't matter because it is just precious.  My mom, sister, and I are all animal lovers and I think Macie is going to end up the same way!

Yesterday, I decided I was going to go buy paint and start painting our house again.  I've started on the kitchen and I'm about halfway through.  Then I have to paint the entry way and hallway.  After I'm finished with that, who knows what I will move on to.  I want to do Macie's room next, so maybe we'll do that.  I'm in the process of turning it into her toddler room/playroom.  I go through different colors in my head every single day, changing my mind along the way, because I want to make it perfect!  My little princess needs a room she can enjoy and grow into.
Anyway, I have taken a few pictures this week.  Macie has been pretty entertaining.  She's such a little character.  I just love to watch all of the new things she picks up each day!  I just hope that she doesn't pick up any "bad" habits from me!

This is the little tabby cat that I'm getting for my mom...it's pretty cute!!!

This is the color I picked for the kitchen...it's pretty bold, that's for sure.  I'm going to have to buy a lot of new decorations to match...oh shucks! HEHE!

This is what Macie decided to do while I was unloading groceries.

Macie got to play with her cousins Hannah and Noah.  She loves them!

This is why I think Macie is an animal lover too.  She was giving my cat, Catty, a hug and cuddling with her.  She does this quite a bit.

My little cutie!

I couldn't get her to take a nap all day long and after fighting me for two hours, this is how she passed out.  She looks like a little angel!

New Computer!

Well, we finally got a new laptop.  It was about time too.  We have been using Chris' laptop he got for graduation 6 years ago and it was slowly but surely breaking down on us.  So, now I'm going to have to get my pictures transferred so I can start blogging again.  I know I haven't gotten very many posts up since my arrival on the blogging scene, but I am truly going to try and get this thing going and up to date.  I also went out and bought a wireless router, so I can work on the computer from any room which will make life a lot easier with a one year old running around.  So, here is my promise that I will try my very hardest to post more often!

Catching up!

Well, we've been a family of busy bees the past few weeks. I just finished my finals for my first semester back at Tarleton. I'm happy to have them out of the way! I've heard that the first semester back is the hardest, and it is very true. I know what to expect now, though, so I will be prepared for next semester.

We have had a lot happen since the last post. My boxer, Tex, was attacked by the neighbor's dogs and had to have emergency surgery. No puppies for Tex, ever. It was very sad, but he is back to himself again after recovering for two weeks. He's still happy as he's ever been and he's still wonderful with Macie! They're buddies.

Our weekends have been very full and will be throughout the entire summer, I imagine. So, since I'm not attending school during the week I make the most of Mommy and Macie time. Earlier this week we went to Stephenville to visit Aunt Ashley and saw Uncle Matt briefly. Macie got to swim in the pool at Ashley's apartment and had a blast. Pictures from that outing to follow. Today, we're heading to Aunt Sharon's house in Joshua to swim. I will get pictures from that posted later.

Anyway, that's a little bit going on with us for now.

This was Macie's first encounter with an ice cream cone. She had a good time!

Happy girl!!!

She is already showing signs of being studious. She found a pen and paper in the junk drawer and started taking notes. I'm sure she was writing about how much she loves her Mommy!

This was from our pool day.

She was talking about something. Of course I caught her making a lovely face. :-)

Macie's Aunt Ashley was playing with her and she was loving it!!!

Ashley tried to get a good one of us, but Macie wouldn't look at the camera. She was more interested in the water!

We had fun playing on the steps.

Then we hopped around!

Afterwards, Aunt Ashley gave Macie a green popsicle. She ate the whole thing!!!

Macie loves her Aunt Ashley! And, I THINK her Aunt Ashley loves her back!

Finally Macie got to see Uncle Matt! He was very happy to see her!
