I see this on this blog every week and always think, "I should do that!"
I never do the 10 on 10 like I would like to do each month {have sworn to myself that I would every month since I started the blog over two years ago! <----links to my very first blog, WOW!
So this week, I am actually doing something fun!
And MAYBE, just maybe...I will continue something.
Monday was a chill day. Macie stayed at her Lolli's Sunday night and Macklyn and I hung out at the house, just playing around. She had her first experience in the swing outside....and LOVED it. Macie was excited for the delivery of the new chicks at Lolli's. She's in love with them! Macklyn got her first ponytail (you can sort of see it in the picture. Little bit and I headed to Paradise for a visit and to pick of big sissy. When we got home, Macie wanted to ride her bicycle....and decided to attempt acrobatics. We put a stop to that pretty quick (right after I got a picture of it!).
Tuesday was a school day for Macie. Macklyn and I headed to the Apple store shortly after dropping Macie off to get some troubleshooting done on the MacBook. She was such a trooper in the store! Afterwards, we made a Target run and headed home to get big sister. Macie just loves Macklyn to pieces. She always wants to be right by her side - giving her hugs and kisses. Macklyn LOVES her little "play mat" - those animals are her new pals. She'll just talk and talk to them!
Wednesday, we made a trip to my hometown to visit and pick up my mom's MacBook (I needed it for homework since I was computer-less). My grandad and uncle brought some cows in and put them in one pasture, but one of them decided she wanted to go over to the garden. My grandma said she ran out there shooing that stinkin' cow away. She and my grandad work hard on that garden, the last thing she wanted was a cow trampling and eating up her veggies! The poor girl in the picture was missing her buddy and wouldn't stop mooing. Macie said it hurt her ears. She let me get a few pictures of her anyway. Miss Macklyn has everyone wrapped around her fat little fingers - she was really showing off for Grandma and Nana! Macie and those stick horses. When Noah and Hannah are around she's battling to gain control of all three. I try to make her share, but she just doesn't want to for some reason. We made it home for little bit to get a bath and I snapped this picture of her svelte figure. I don't think she gets enough to eat.....
Thursday was another school day....I didn't get one picture of Macie this day. :( How can you not love this sweet face??? This was the first day Macklyn wore a pair of shoes. My mom gave these to her for Christmas and they fit now. Yay!!! She and I headed back to the big city to the Apple store to pick up the computer. They said it was one program messing everything up...too bad when I got home it was still doing the same thing even after removal. So now I have to take it back up there again. UGH! I'm just glad I bought Apple Care and it's still under warranty - no out of pocket for me!!!
Friday was a big day. We went to play group at Chickfila. Macie got to play for a while with her friends there. After, I needed to pick up a few things from Walmart. Macklyn was STARVING so we sat in the car for a feeding. Macie's face shows her enthusiasm for sitting in the car waiting for her sister to finish. I recently bought a Moby wrap and LOVE it! At first it felt awkward, but now it's a lifesaver. Macklyn will just snooze in this thing for hours. We got to play outside. I'm loving this sandal weather and so are my toes....besides my right big toe (ol' gimpy). It's about to fall off unfortunately - just in time for sandal season. Macklyn got to swing again and Macie had a yummy popsicle. We're still trying to figure out if we can repair the trampoline (from the last storm....it blew into our fence and bent like a potato chip) - Macie's a little bummed about this. Poor girl, only got to play on it for about two months. Chris had a package delivery and Macie attempted to hide behind the big ol' box. :) Macklyn is ALREADY in a size TWO diaper. How did that happen? She will be two months tomorrow!
Saturday, I didn't take any pictures. We went to my cousin's little boy's first birthday party, Macie went home with my mom, Chris and I went to our friends' little boy's t-ball game, then went to the same friends' parents' house. Long day, summed up in a nutshell. It was a fun day! :)
Sunday, we took bluebonnet pictures out at my grandparents' land. The flowers were so pretty, but the kids (besides Hannah) weren't digging the whole taking pictures thing. We got a couple of decent pictures, but not what I wanted. Oh well, can't win 'em all! I can't believe how big Hannah is now - she loves taking pictures, so I asked her to take one with me. I just love going out there. Brings back memories of my childhood and riding around with my Grandad in his old Toyota pickup, drinking from his milk jug full of water - he would freeze water and it would melt throughout the hot summer day. We would drive all around checking on the cows and looking over the land. After we finished, we went back to my Granparents' house. Macklyn fell asleep on my mom, she was giving her those sweet baby snuggles. Macie picked a rose without asking, so I made her take this picture. My grandma took a picture of my sister like this when she was about this age. When I was about five, I wanted one just like my big sister, so she took one of me too. Now we have one of Macie. I'll try to find the one of me and share that. Hopefully I will get one of Macklyn one day too!
I love all of your pictures... I can almost hear sweet baby grunts when looking through them!!!. Did you take the k'tan back?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your rose picture and compare!
Great post!!
I didn't take the K'tan back. It's too small - I followed what the box said and it's still small (maybe I'm just in denial that I haven't lost all of my pregnancy weight and actually gained a few pounds that I lost back). I felt like I was squeezing the life out of Macklyn. I would have returned, but it was out of the box and I have NO IDEA what I did with the receipt. I like the Moby because it's one size. It's really long and awkward, but SO comfy. Macklyn will sleep forever! I think I may look into the gauzy ones for this summer. Another momma in our play group knows all about the wraps, so I'm looking to her for advise. If her clingy-ness already is any indication of the future, I will probably be baby wearing for a good two years.
ReplyDeleteI make slings that are great for even when they get older. I used mine for Joshua until my back couldn't hold up to that chunky monkey anymore!! they are exactly like the ones on sevenslings.com so if you want me to make you one, you could even pick out the material! Most of my girl friends pick exactly what they want and mail it to me. I make it and send it back custom for you! I like it because its simple, and easy!
